Santo Domingo, with a great livestock and mining tradition, is a municipality of pronounced hills and mighty rivers.
It is a town with a mountain air, quiet and peaceful that invites you to discover it. From her womb were born the boys of the musical group "The Gods of Fire”, authors of popular songs that are still remembered in the municipality.
The municipality is located 190 kms. from the capital, Managua. It limits to the north with La Libertad, to the south with Santo Tomás and San Pedro de Lóvago, to the east with El Ayote and to the west with La Libertad.

To get to this municipality from Managua, you must take a public transport unit at the Mercado El Mayoreo bus terminal to Juigalpa, then take another to the municipality of Santo Domingo.
Way of Santo Domingo
You can also travel by private vehicle following the North Pan-American Highway and turn right at the San Benito junction towards Juigalpa. Later, at the entrance to Juigalpa, take the detour to the left, following the road towards La Libertad and continue until you reach Santo Domingo.
