To get to the National Shrine of Our Lady of Cuapa, board a bus at the El Mayoreo market terminal to Juigalpa, from 06:00 am to 07:00 pm, get off at the Cuapa junction and wait for a bus to take you to the center of the municipality.

National Shrine of Our Lady of Cuapa

The center of attention of this sanctuary is the apparition of the Virgin of Cuapa that was given in 1980 to Father Bernardo Martínez to whom it appeared on five occasions. Every 08th of each month there is an ecclesiastical mass, but its celebration is on May 08th and October 13th.

Our Lady of Asunción Cathedral in Juigalpa

It is the first temple in Juigalpa, it was built with adobe walls, a thatched roof and a dirt floor (1648-1699). The current church is the product of the constructive evolution of the building. In 1950 it was declared a Historical Monument.
