El Tepeyac Sanctuary
Built in 1976 by Father Odorico D´Andrea, it is located on a hill surrounded by vegetation and red earth, in the Baroque style; To get to the sanctuary you have to climb 36 steps that signify spiritual cleansing. It is the largest pilgrimage center in Nicaragua.

Declared a National Artistic Monument and Jewel of San Rafael, and in 2000 Cultural Heritage of the Nation; It was promoted and rebuilt in 1957 by Father Odorico D'Andrea, together with his people.
