Old City, it was a city destroyed and looted by English and French pirates in 1654 and 1668.

This city is characterized by its residential buildings, which, like its parish church, preserves the colonial influence in its buildings.

Most of the houses are built of adobe and clay tile roofs, painted with white earth from the same place. Its wide internal corridors and large patios with trees and gardens stand out, as well as the typical kitchen with its traditional stove. Its people are simple, peaceful and hospitable.

In the municipality, sugar cane honey and derived products such as alfeñiques, cachaça and tapas or sweet marqueta are made, made by hand in the milling of sugar cane, through processing with traditional trapiches and cooking in traditional ovens.

It is located in the center of the urban area, adjacent to the Iglesia Santuario Señor de los Milagros.

Hill of the Cross: It is a place of pilgrimage every May 3. All the parishioners who participate in this pilgrimage attend with faith and devotion. In the place there is a 3 meter high wooden cross, which is worshiped. It is the highest point near the city and from this place you can see some panoramic views of the city and its surroundings.
