A catholic town full of devotion, recognized by the image of its Patron Saint the Lord of Esquipulas or Black Christ and a small pool that is attributed the same name of its patron saint, which is very visited by parishioners in search of miracles. Its pilgrimage on the third Friday of Lent is famous, because promising people from Nicaragua and other countries of the world arrive to request miracles or pay for miracles received, the parishioners usually carry water from this little pile where the image of the saint is believed to have appeared.
The municipality of La Conquista is located 60 kilometers from the city of Managua. It limits to the north and west with Jinotepe, to the south and east with Santa Teresa.
The economic activity of the municipality is agriculture and livestock, the inhabitants cultivate: corn, Creole beans, pompadour wheat, bananas and others.
How to reach?
To get to the municipality of La Conquista you must take a minibus at the bus terminal in front of the Casimiro Sotelo Montenegro National University, bound for Jinotepe, upon arrival you can take a bus or taxi that will take you to La Conquista.
If you travel by private vehicle, take the South Pan-American Highway in the direction of El Crucero until you reach Jinotepe, then follow the highway until kilometer 52, turn right into Santa Teresa, and continue south until you reach La Conquista.
