Among the typical dishes, drinks and sweets of the municipality, the Indian chicken soup with meatballs stands out, Estelí's favorite dish and a must in the Nicaraguan dining room; also the stuffed pork, marucas, coralillo pod stew and güirilas.
The latter have become so popular in the country that we now find them in almost all the Central, North and Pacific regions of Nicaragua.
Among the breads and sweets, the corn-based tolillo and perrerreque stand out, and among the sweets motasatol, atol de piñuela, milk cartons, lollipops and the famous chimbos eggs, a sweet representative of the Estelianos found in all the grocery stores of the Diamond of Las Segovias .
