Leon Cathedral
Built between 1747 and 1820, it is one of the most important architectural buildings erected during the colonial era in the American continent. Currently Cultural Heritage of Humanity, where the poet Rubén Darío received his baptismal water and where his mortal remains are also found.
La Recolección Church
The first stone of this church was laid on December 05, 1786 by Bishop Juan Félix de Villegas. Next to the church, what is now the La Recolección school was built. It is a baroque monument par excellence. Its façade is considered one of the most important in the city of León.
El Calvario Church
No information is known about the foundation of the temple, but its construction date dates from the first half of the XNUMXth century. Within the iconography of its facade are the prayer of Jesus in the garden, the flagellation and the crucifixion. It is attractive for its style and colors.
La Merced Church
The old church was built in 1762, later it was demolished to build the current church in its same place during the XNUMXth century. Its interior was modernized at the beginning of this century. It is predominantly baroque. It can be visited every day of the week.

The original temple dates from 1639, it is a church with a symmetrical rectangular plan in its central body and a square plan in its presbytery. It also has a sacristy in its extreme northwest. It can be visited every day, the first Monday of Easter is when San Benito de Palermo is celebrated.
Church of San Juan Bautista de Sutiaba
Built between 1706 and 1718, replacing the original Hermitage of San Pedro, it faces the central square of the indigenous district of Sutiaba. Almost in its great majority it is decorated and built in wood, for this reason it earns the name of the Wooden Cathedral.
