Chinandega has a dry tropic climate, characterized by its spectacular landscapes, rich soils, history, churches, San Cristóbal-Casita volcanic complex and above all its friendly and hard-working people who have a lot to tell and show about their municipality.
The municipality of Chinandega is located 134 kilometers from the city of Managua.
It limits to the north with Somotillo and Villanueva, to the south with Chichigalpa, El Realejo and Posoltega, to the east with Villanueva and Telica and to the west with the municipalities of El Viejo and Puerto Morazán.
The fundamental economic activity of the municipality is agriculture, industry, services, commerce and livestock.

Entrance to Chinandega
To get to Chinandega you must board a bus at the Israel Lewites Market bus terminal in Managua, heading to Chinandega.
If you go by private vehicle you must take the Old or New Highway to León, arriving in this municipality continue straight on the Panamericana until you reach the Chinandega roundabout, which is the entrance to the municipality.
