Posoltega is a municipality that has a very contrasting nature, characteristic of its landscapes where the impetuous Casitas volcano remains lush surrounded by vegetation. It offers you unique places and destinations.

Posoltega is 116 kilometers from Managua. It limits to the north with Chinandega, to the south with Quezalguaque, to the east with Telica and Quezalguaque and to the west with the municipality of Chichigalpa.

The fundamental economic activity of the municipality is agriculture with the cultivation of sugar cane, peanuts, sesame, soybeans, coffee and other basic grains.

To get to Posoltega you must board a transport unit at the Israel Lewites Market bus terminal that goes to the department of Chinandega, and ask the driver to drop you off at the entrance of the municipality where you must take a taxi or caponera that will transfer you to the town center or wait for the bus that comes from Chinandega.

Also at the Chinandega terminal you can catch the bus in the direction of Posoltega.

If you travel by private transport from the capital, taking the South highway towards the New highway or the Old highway to León, arriving at the department of León, you pass through the intersection in Telica where you must continue to the left until the entrance to the municipality, turn to the left to reach the town center, the road is rural.
