The municipality of Santa Rosa del Peñón is located 174 kilometers from the city of Managua. It limits to the north with the municipality of San Nicolás, to the south with El Jicaral, to the east with San Isidro, and to the west with the municipality of El Sauce.
The main economic activity of the municipality is agriculture: corn, million wheat, sorghum and red beans, the latter is the most important product and makes the municipality the largest producer in the department, it is grown for local consumption and external marketing.

How to reach?
To get to the municipality of Santa Rosa del Peñón, board a public transport bus bound for León, at any of the two bus terminals in the city of Managua, in the Israel Lewites Market or in front of the Casimiro Sotelo Montenegro National University. When you arrive in León you must take another bus that will take you to the municipality.
