Santo Tomás del Norte, also known as Santo Tomás del Nance, is a border municipality with the Republic of Honduras, it is characterized by being a small rural town surrounded by vegetation, where its stories and ancient temples will make you remember this small, but very charming place.

The municipality is located 219 kilometers from the city of Managua. It limits to the north with Cinco Pinos, to the south with Somotillo, to the east with Cinco Pinos and to the west with the Republic of Honduras.
The fundamental economic activity of the municipality is livestock and agriculture. The agricultural strip irrigated by the Guasaule River and its tributaries constitute the most productive area of the municipality where sesame, beans and corn are grown.

To get to this municipality you must board a bus at the Israel Lewites Market terminal (Managua) bound for the municipality of Chinandega, where you will later take the bus that leaves for Santo Tomás del Norte.
Road to Santo Tomás del Norte.
If you travel by private vehicle, take the suburban highway, heading towards the new León highway until you reach this municipality, then you must continue to Chinandega where there is a roundabout, there you must take the track towards Somotillo indicated by signs, being in Somotillo you will take the highway towards the town of Cinco Pinos, which passes through the urban area of Santo Tomás del Norte.
