The municipality of Nueva Guinea is located 292 kilometers from Managua, the capital of Nicaragua. It limits to the north with Muelle de los Bueyes and El Rama, to the south with San Carlos, El Castillo and Bluefields, to the east with El Rama and Bluefields and to the west with El Almendro, Villa Sandino and San Miguelito.

The predominant economic activity in the municipality is the agricultural sector. Livestock is extensive and agricultural activity is represented by crops of quequisque, cassava, taro, bananas, tomato, rice, beans, corn, among others.

If you are traveling from Managua, at the Mercado El Mayoreo terminal you must take a direct public transport bus to Nueva Guinea.

In a private vehicle, you take the North Pan-American Highway, towards El Rama, which will take you to Juigalpa, here you go to the municipality of Santo Tomas, you pass Villa Sandino. At the El Coral Junction you continue to the right passing through El Coral until you reach Nueva Guinea.
