Pilgrim Carts-Rivas
Get to know the sanctuary that is visited by national and foreign prospects and tourists throughout the year. During the Semana Mayor the promising people arrive from different parts of the country in carts pulled by oxen accompanied by their family, which is tradition.

To get to the Jesús del Rescate National Sanctuary, you must board a bus from Managua at the Roberto Huembes market terminal to Rivas, from 04:30 am to 06:00 pm While in Rivas, take a taxi or tricycle to get to the sanctuary which is approximately 10 minutes away.

Jesús del Rescate National Sanctuary
Place where parishioners gather to worship the image for more than 300 years. Built between 1973 and 1983 and declared a National Sanctuary in 2013. On the last Friday of Dolores Week, it leaves the sanctuary and takes a tour of the main streets of Rivas culminating with a solemn mass.

San Pedro Apóstol Parish Church
It is one of the emblematic buildings of the city in the Baroque style. It is a monument inspired by the Cathedral of León, the construction of the temple began in 1860. In 2001 it was declared a National Historical Cultural Heritage.

La Merced Church in San Jorge
This temple with more than 485 years is the oldest church in Nicaragua, because according to studies, it is estimated that it was built in 1528. It is one of the most important architectural assets of the municipality.
