During this period liturgical acts, masses, rosaries and processions are carried out, as well as popular expressions such as bullfights, candles, cart offerings, float parades and artistic presentations.

On January 17 there is a parade of floats with the queens of the festivities, enlivened with disco and chicheros music. The tour takes place through the main streets of Nandasmo, culminating in Central Park. In the afternoon, happy bullfights are held at the barrier.

At night all the residents and visitors gather to witness the fireworks, which are very colorful for their color, accompanied by dances enlivened by musical groups of the moment. It is a night of waste, of joy and excitement.

An element that stands out in these festivals are the beautiful and colorful shelters, where typical foods and drinks are also distributed such as casserole dough, corn chicha, nacatamales, donuts, buns and bread. Food is offered to each of the visitors to the rhythm of the music of philharmonics or chicheros, rockets and mortars.

In June there are other festivities that are held in honor of San Pedro, starting on the 23rd with the meeting between San Juan Bautista de Masatepe and San Pedro de Nandasmo in the place known as El Pochote, now Villa San Pedro.

The top is accompanied by the traditional dance of the vaquita, the dance of the inditas, the chinegros and the sounds of marimbas and philharmonics. This meeting is very popular with people from Massatepinos and Nandasmeños.
