The festivities are celebrated on December 27, in homage to the patron saint of the municipality, Saint John the Evangelist. It is an eminently religious festival; In this celebration, cultural events are held, the saint's candle, musical diana, procession and holy mass with the Bishop of the diocese.

The most important festival in the municipality and with the greatest popular participation is the traditional festival in honor of San Juan Bautista and it is celebrated on June 24, the top of the two Juanes is held, one coming from the La Dalia school and the other of Zone # 6, the meeting of both saints takes place in the Welcome Arch to San Juan del Río Coco.

In these festivals, in addition to the religious activities, cultural, social and recreational activities are developed such as the fairs of products of the municipality and the gastronomic fairs, where leading women meet who expose the best of their dishes, made with great ingenuity and love .

February 11 is celebrated on the day of the Virgin of Lourdes Pilgrimages are made in the place popularly known as the Chorro de la Virgen de Telpaneca, open mass, vigils, Christian music concert, where promising people from different departments participate, share food with the people who attend the place, carry holy water for medicine and Many of the devotees give testimony of healing and at night the traditional Purísima is celebrated at the home of Mrs. Modesta Rosa Herrara Carrasco. 

During Holy Week they carry out the traditional processions, the Stations of the Cross are held in a different place each year, traveling about 8 km., And the traditional procession of the Risen Jesus and the Sorrowful Virgin that takes place on Glory Saturday at midnight. 

La Purísima is also celebrated in honor of the Immaculate Conception of Mary every December 7 and 8, the altars where the Marian believers of the town come to sing.

Municipal fairs: They take place every Sunday on the main street of the urban area. In these events the culture of the municipality is shown and it is a way to promote the local products.

The Coffee Fair takes place on November 27, celebrating the opening of the municipality's coffee harvest season. It is organized by the San Juan del Río Coco Agricultural Cooperatives Union (UCA-San Juan del Río Coco) and the municipal mayor's office.

In it, all products derived from coffee, in grain and processed, are exposed. Cooperatives, individual producers, coffee farms and coffee exporting companies participate. Here you can taste and buy high quality organic export coffee.
