On the first of March, the patron saint festivities begin with a happy target where the promising ones distribute coffee, nacatamales and bread.
Celebrate San Jose officiating the Eucharist with the presence of the bishop of the Diocese or a representative, then the procession of the saint takes place through all the streets of the town.
On the second Sunday of the month, San José comes out in demand through the streets of Terrabona. On March 17 there is a popular festival with the main groups in the country.
On the 18th, the image is taken to the place of the apparitions, known as El Matapalo, a leafy tree that is located at the main entrance of the town about 700 meters to the northwest, where a hermitage was built and every year after the Mass the parishioners distribute food, soft drinks, cartas and traditional sweets.
According to the Terraboneños, these traditions originated with the appearance of an image of Saint Joseph in the sector known as El Matapalo, where a hermitage was built to honor the Patron Saint.
After praying the holy rosary, the image is returned, which comes in a well-decorated carriage and upon entering the church it is concluded with a Christian music vigil.
Another traditional activity, which is part of the festivities in honor of the patron saint, is the Walk of the Semovientes, which takes place on March 16, consists of the parade of animals (pigs, cows and horses) which are painted with the name of the priostes or promising with the motto "Viva San José".
Some are adorned with garlic, chiltomas and onions, touring the main streets of the urban area, accompanied by the gigantona and people from the different communities who go down to parade on horseback. At night the famous "Grinding", where the women grind large quantities of corn to make nacatamales and tortillas throughout the night, and then distribute them among the promising ones.
