Villa Sandino celebrates its patron saint festivities in honor of San Pedro on June 29, although part of the celebrations were moved to the month of April to avoid the torrential downpours of the copious winters in this region. Bullfighting afternoons, equestrian or horseback riding, popular festivals and productive fairs are part of the program of these festivities.

San Pedro

Historical sources point out that it was Father Higinio Fletes who made San Pedro official as the patron saint of the municipality, being Don Silverio Hernández and his wife Paula Jiménez his first celebrants.

Parish church

La muhan community celebrates Saint George in the month of April. Other well-known popular festivals are La Gateada and El Chilamate.

The municipality's anniversary festivities are on August 27 and include an extensive cultural program.
