The municipality of Rosita is located in the center of the Autonomous Region of the North Caribbean Coast, it has varied topographies, the low areas have 0-30 m asl with slopes less than 5%.

The mountainous areas with heights ranging from 100-600 m asl have a rugged relief, with slopes that vary from 15 - 75%. In the latter, the Isabelia Mountain Range penetrates between the Waspuk and Prinzapolka rivers, forming the Pispís mountains, the area where the municipality is located.

Blue Lagoon Rosita

It has some elevations in the south and east sector, where the Cerro Banacruz stands out, with a height of 730 m asl and the Bolivia, La Tigra, El Amazonas and Susún hills.

Among the natural sites that are of reference for the municipality are the Balneario Bambana and La Laguna, also the fragments of rainforest that belong to the buffer zone of the Bosawás biosphere reserve. In this river you can swim, take a boat ride, enjoy the landscape, flora and fauna of the site. It is located at the entrance to Rosita, detour to Siuna, in the Harrington neighborhood.

Among the main attractions is the hydrographic network, we can mention Kukalaya, Prinzapolka, Bambana, Susún, Tipispán, Okonwas and Banacruz.

Micon Lagoon: a site covered with hills that you can explore in the company of a local guide, go hiking, take pictures, among other activities. This place is located in the 19 de Julio neighborhood.

Hill of the Church, This is a place where you will be surrounded by nature, here you can go hiking, observe flora and fauna and meet the Catholic Church of the municipality at the foot of the hill. It is located behind this church, in the urban area.

Breadfruit River y Divagil River: Here you will find a suspension bridge, on which the population passes, they are ideal places to share with family and friends. You can enjoy the fresh waters of these rivers, as well as practice sport fishing, boat trips, get to know the indigenous community of Fruta de Pan and Divagil, observe the flora and fauna of the site, among others. The rivers are close to each other and located about 10 minutes from the urban area.

Talalate Garden: In this place you will learn about the cultivation of cocoa, and others, in addition to hiking, learning about the importance of forests, carrying out agricultural activities and getting to know the drinking water dam that supplies the municipality. In a fresh and natural environment, it is in the El Zopilote community.

The tropical rain forest is found in the middle altitudes of the mountains and hills, the trees are larger than in the cloud forest and it is found in many sectors replaced by the cultivation of coffee.

In the agroforestry system, the crops that are most developed are musaceae (banana, plantain and banana) and coconut. In the agricultural system the crops are dedicated to the sowing of corn, beans, rice, pineapple, cassava, quequisque, vegetables and sugarcane.

Among the representative flora species are: mahogany, cedar, maría, oak, royal cedar, leche maría, granadillo, medlar, quita calzón, guayabón, naked Indian, guácimo, nancitón, male cedar, balsam, blackberry, palo de agua, guanacaste , laurel, sand, cortés, bamboo, guapinol, comibar and male pine.

The species of fauna that stand out are: lizard, cuajipal, tigrillo, mountain pig, iguana, howler monkey, spider monkey, white-faced monkey, deer, pizote, limpet, guardatinaja and tapir.
