San Francisco de Cuapa, one of the youngest municipalities in the department of Chontales, is a town of great religiosity and Marian fervor. It was established in a pleasant valley guarded by high mountains.
It is located 152 kilometers from Managua, the capital of Nicaragua, and 24 kilometers from Juigalpa, the departmental capital. It limits to the north with Camoapa, to the south with Juigalpa, to the east with La Libertad and to the west with Comalapa.
Livestock is the most important economic activity in the municipality. The production of milk and meat are the most significant items of its production.

How to reach?
To get to the municipality from Managua, you must board a bus at the Mercado El Mayoreo terminal, bound for Juigalpa. Then in the Old Market From the departmental capital of Chontales, you must take a bus that goes to Cuapa.
If you are traveling by private vehicle, you should take the North Pan-American highway northeast to the San Benito junction, then turn southeast (right) along the El Rama highway until you reach the Las Lajitas junction, where you turn to the left taking the road to Cuapa, distant from this place at 16 kilometers.
