The patron saint festivities are in honor of San Raphael On October 24, cultural, religious and sporting events are held for a week.
Easter week: In addition to recreational activities in the different rivers, on Easter Sunday the most representative activity that involves the entire community takes place, at dawn in the municipal cemetery, families and religious congregations gather to perform resurrection mass and have breakfast in the holy field.

Indigenous cultural activities
Urah: Celebration of the New Year's Eve party and the beginning of the New Year, can last the whole night, and consists of songs and dances remembering the activities carried out during the year and making commitments for the next year. These are dances that imitate the movements of different animals.
Autonomy Week: commemoration of the Promulgation of the Autonomy Processes of the Costa Caribe Autonomous Region, obtained in 1987. This is a massive event that is celebrated with cultural activities, gastronomic fairs and other important events related to this anniversary. It is in the last week of October.
Sihkru tara: (ceremony in memory of the dead) in the Miskitu people; Traditional Miskito rite where the indigenous people manage to communicate with the spirits of their ancestors, in order to keep alive the traditional knowledge essential for life in the communities. It is celebrated between August 06 and 10 in Bilwi and Waspam, the Miskito indigenous people of Honduras arrive.
Traditional indigenous festivals
Tambaku: It is a popular Christmas festival that can last three days, it is celebrated with fermented drinks and traditional foods.
Diksi: It is a traditional dance that is also known as "maskared", this dance of people in disguise, circulates throughout the community visiting houses and dancing, the community collaborates with the group by giving them gifts, most of which is money. It is danced at Christmas seasons and at harvest festivals.
Urah or Urali: It is a massive community dance, which is organized in the Christmas season and is danced on the eve of the New Year, it can last for three days, with drinks and meals.
In the song of the Urah or Urali, the history of everything that happened during the year is highlighted and with emphasis on the things that stood out for strong reasons such as deaths, harvests, travel, among others.
Dance of usus mairin: message of how the transnationals obtained the resources, like the male mouse, but they could not say it. Before it was a dance to pass messages, now it is danced any day.
Tawalaya: It is the feast of the guaro drinker, laya is the fermented drink. In all the parties it is sung. On the rules of coexistence where the message is given to the young woman not to drink fermented beverages (song).

Religious culture: Kamprins, the custom of visiting other communities holding meetings of religious conferences of the Moravian, Catholic and Anglican church, singing, dancing and eating is done. It is a secret competition between the communities who offer more meals, they are like mini religious festivals.
