La Dr. Concepcion Palacios Herrera, doctor and surgeon who shone as a specialist in gynecology. He had outstanding performances in politics and in Sandinista militancy. He provided professional services as a doctor of the International White Cross in the rear of the battle fronts of World War II (1945).
His political militancy did not allow him to return to the homeland. El Sauce declared her a Favorite Daughter and the National Autonomous University of Nicaragua awarded her the title of Doctor Honoris in 1980.
