The municipality of Wiwilí de Nueva Segovia is located to the east of the department and is divided from Wiwilí de Jinotega by the Coco River. It is characterized by its undulating reliefs and hills between 500-1500 meters above sea level, with slopes of 20 to 45%.

The natural attraction of the municipality is made up of: Coco river o Wangki, in some sectors of the river you can do artisanal fishing and boat rides in winter. The river divides Wiwilí Nueva Segovia from Wiwilí de Jinotega. It is considered the longest river in Central America.

Here you can practice artisanal fishing, do fauna sighting, see lizards, ride in boats and of course bathe in its refreshing waters.

It can be reached on foot, since it is not far from the town center of the municipality. In the same way you can go by vehicle.

El El Salto river it is a resource where you can appreciate the scenic beauty that surrounds you; here you can see two strong currents that are born on the site, as well as the characteristic fauna of the municipality. It is located in the La Polvosa community, located 4 kms. of the municipality of Wiwilí. It can be reached by two means, by 4×4 vehicles and by motorcycle, due to the state of the road. To visit this place it is recommended to go in the company of a guide from the community.

Explore the Cerro Ventilla, There you can hike to its top, where you have an incomparable view and you can appreciate the municipality. To make your visit to the place it is advisable to look for a baqueano to accompany you on the tour.

This hill is approximately 11 kms. of the municipality, in Buena Vista community of Ventilla, where you can get there by car or motorcycle to a certain point, then you have to go on foot. Access to the site is in good condition, but almost once you get there you have to walk because you have to climb a fairly steep slope.

El Cerro El Perro It has a pleasant climate. You can go hiking, observe flora and fauna, enjoy the view of beautiful landscapes of the municipality and its surroundings. It is located in the Buenas Vista Ventilla community, at a distance of approximately 12.5 kms.

You can reach a certain point by 4 × 4 vehicle and motorcycle, then you have to walk about a kilometer because this part of the road is in poor condition. It is recommended to visit the site in the company of a guide or local baqueano.

Get to know and explore the Wiwilí viewpoint, there you can take a walk to climb this viewpoint, when you reach the top you can see landscapes of neighboring municipalities, such as Wiwilí de Nueva Segovia and Wiwilí Jinotega, as well as the river that divides these municipalities. You can easily get there on foot, but you can also get there by car or motorcycle. The access is in regular conditions. It is advisable to make your tour with a baqueano or guide from the area.

In the agroforestry system the representative crops are coffee, bananas, plantains, bananas, cocoa, citrus fruits such as orange and lemon; the mango, avocado and papaya.

In the agricultural system, the most established crops are corn and beans; crops of rice, sorghum, cassava, quequisque, malanga, tomato, squash, chiltoma, squash, cabbage and sugar cane are also established. In the livestock system, extensive and low-tech livestock farming is developed, much of it dedicated to dairy cattle. In the paddocks there are usually native grasses and some use scattered trees.

Among the main species of fauna are the ostoche cat, culumuco, cuyuzo, bare-tailed fox, ocelot, mountain cat, American lion, agouti, squirrel, weasel, cusuco, white-faced monkey, howler monkey, spider monkey, rabbit , red deer, peccary, anteater, sloths, little owls, horned owls, peacock bass, chachalaca, pocoyo, quetzal, bellbird, boa, buzzards, vipers, false coral, mica snake, false yellow beard, and true coral.
