The municipality of Wiwilí de Nueva Segovia is located 300 kilometers from the city of Managua. It limits to the north with the Republic of Honduras, to the south and east with Wiwilí-Jinotega and to the west with the municipalities of Quilalí and Murra.
The fundamental economic activity of the municipality is agriculture, the cultivation of corn, beans and bananas; followed by livestock and coffee.

To get to the municipality of Wiwilí de Nueva Segovia, you must board a transport unit at the Mercado El Mayoreo bus terminal bound for Ocotal, then board a bus in the direction of the municipality of Wiwilí. Only two buses go daily to this municipality; the first leaves at 07:00 am and the other at 09:20 am
You can travel by private transportation heading along the North Pan-American Highway, turning off in the municipality of Sébaco towards the department of Estelí, then continue towards Ocotal, and continue the road until you reach the municipality of Wiwilí.
