San Juan de Oriente has an architectural heritage of high historical and cultural value. Among the buildings that stand out most is its colonial church and its residential buildings preserved in good condition as an emblem of pre-Hispanic and colonial identity.
La San Juan Bautista Church 404 years old, with colonial architecture with tall pillars and an altar carved in wood, beautiful colorful stained glass windows that highlight the beauty of the church. It is the house of the Patron Saint Saint John the Baptist. According to history, the master builders were Gervacio Gallegos de Galicia and Juan de Bracamontes y Peñaranda.
