One of the most salient dishes of this municipality are the toasted tortillas accompanied by freshly made curds. These tortillas are made in the Gutiérrez Norte, San Cristóbal and San José de la Montaña communities.
Other dishes of exquisite flavor in the municipality are fried snapper, seafood soup, fish soup, ceviche, lobster, breaded shrimp, fish in sauce, black shell cocktail, pork nacatamales, roast beef and roasted pelibuey.
The drinks to savor are pinol, pinolillo, corn chicha, coyol chicha, chinchiví, jícaro seed with milk, corn atol, warm, sour milk and natural soft drinks.
The traditional sweets of the municipality are the perrerreque, squash in honey, drunk soup, milk cajeta, rice milk and cottage cheese.
