Morrito known as “Pueblito de Pescadores”, is the smallest municipality in Río San Juan and its main economic activity is fishing.

It is a town with a scenic lake beach panorama that allows the practice of artisanal fishing, water sports such as kayaking and a tour on the waters of Lake Cocibolca. He is gentle, hard-working, and hospitable.

The fundamental economic activity is artisanal fishing, livestock, agriculture and tourism.

The municipality of Morrito is located 232 kilometers from the city of Managua. It limits to the north with Acoyapa, to the south with San Miguelito, to the east with El Almendro and to the west with Lake Cocibolca.

To get to the municipality of Morrito, you can make the trip by land or water. By land you must board a bus bound for San Carlos at the Mercado El Mayoreo terminal, ask the driver to drop you off at the Morrito junction, where you will board a minibus that will take you to town.

If you travel by private vehicle from Managua, you take the highway to San Carlos, passing through Tipitapa, San Benito, Boaco, Chontales and when you get to Acoyapa you will turn right towards Morrito.
